stubuzz Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I have a question about the family relationship questions on the online application. it asks,' Who are you visiting?' 'What is the family relaionship to you?' The answer is granparent. So, do i answer granparent or Father's mother? Thanks.
7by7 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Who is the applicant visiting? Their grandparent? Their spouse's grandparent? Who? Whoever, that's what you put.
beano2274 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) So the applicant has family in the UK? If it is your Grandparent and you are married then put "Spouse's Grandparents" Edited December 3, 2012 by beano2274
stubuzz Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 The point i'm trying to assertain is the wording. The applicant is my daughter. Their granparent, and father's mother, are the same person. I would assume granparent is the correct answer, as the online application does not support apostrophes.
beano2274 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Grandparents is okay It does not have to be grammatically correct "Fathers mother" is okay. Don't think the ECO is going to worry too much about Grammar.
7by7 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Or paternal grandmother? One thing, stubuzz, if you are British otherwise than by descent then your daughter is almost certainly British as well (unless she was born before July 2006 and you are not married to her mother). So why not get her a British passport? Then she wont need a visa to visit the UK. See the first part of British Citizenship Basics for the meaning of 'British otherwise than by descent' and more information on whether she is British or not.
