Abbhisit and especially Suthep ready to go to jail to thwart a Taksin amnesty. Certainly sounds noble, but hang on a moment, these guys are politicians, when has a politicain in living memory ever done something on principle? And they are Thai politicians to boot. Good PR but more going on here than meets the eye, methinks.

and that's the problem... Thailand has no 'Lady' or anyone within the same league - if only it had just one anti-corrupt, humble and principled leader I'm quite convinced he/she would gain huge support but it ain't so

Abhisit could be the one who matches up close enough, but we'll have to wait and see whether he'll let the thugs lock him up for over 20 years or execute him. He'll be seen as a martyr if either happens.

no way - not in the same league! he had a chance and let Suthep virtually rule - he's for the amart and is clearly seen to be so. There is nobody right now alas
