What Is Your Pet Hate

Featured Replies

:D

Mine, people coming up to me and asking me to either take photos of them, with their camera or a photo of me with them………

What is or are yours ? :o

I leave you with this one as I am traveling Thailand for a couple of weeks, going down south from Kan.

Happy Snapping.

Yours truly,

Kan Win

:D

My pet hate is people wanting to be in my landscapes. :o

If I want a cityscape I will shoot in the city.

I hate when people taking picture and making faces when one is moving into their landscape.

I work at a place that lot's of folks want to take pictures unobstructed only with their loved ones, but sorry folks we live here too and we are part of the landscape…. We just have no time waiting for everyone making silly completely artificial posing pictures.

It's rude behaviour :o - if I knowingly see someone snapping a photo - I wait or go around. (a little consideration goes along way)

I think cameras should be equipped with mini tranquilizer darts for just such occasions. A crumpled heap on the grass is much easier to edit out later than some idiot waving and flashing a big stupid grin. :o

You are not very friendly, are you? :o

How else can people get a photo with all the group included, if you do not assist?

Not that I will put my camera into anyone else's hands.

They might run off with it.

A tripod will do. :o

But frankly I don't mind at all taking pictures for strangers at touristic places and I myself sometimes ask others for the same favor. I tend to choose a tourist carrying SLR or else a "prosumer" camera so presumably there's a little risk of that precious shot turning out of focus or out of frame. With eye-control focus feature that is available on some of Canon's SLRs, you don't want to recallibrate the camera with the assisting photographer's eye for just one or two shots, so I make sure I manually fix it to the center focusing point and tell him/her which point in the frame to focus lock with, before I hand my camera to that person.

When I was in Memphis, Egypt. Trying to take a photo of Ramesses II. A gentlemen wanted me to pay him one pound to be n my photo, when I said that I didn't want him in my photo he wouldn't get out of it unless I paid him one pound.

I have had the same experience in Indonesia.

I just went back from Egypt and took many great pics. I saw these guys, they were working there , first I thought he was doing his job in the temple..somekind of restoration. I took 2 pics of them, afterward they said I must pay for. :o I paid 20 Egypt Pounds as I had no smaller one. :D I went to another cornor and saw many postcards ( his face on the postcards ) too... :D Next time I have to take a 300 mm tele :D behind the bush.

Just a scam.

I always try to use a telephoto lens for candid shots but not in the bushes. :D

I hate it when people p*ss about in otherwise serious pics, and viceversa, when they just can't relax for party pics... Some people always have to pose if they see a camera.

It's probably a treatable disease in the U.S. :o

hey... you´re putting wai in my mouth now!!

Love ya Colonel

When in egypt anytime i want to take a picture of a monument or whatever just before click in the camera two or three egyptian will show up ( i don´t where they came from because they were not there five seconds earlier) and then asked my for money. They will say " you have to give us a pound for taking a picture of us", however after a week i replied " look you have ruined my picture by showing up just before i press the button, so bugger off" Some egyptians are so cheeky... :D

Mine, people coming up to me and asking me to either take photos of them, with their camera or a photo of me with them………

This used to happen to me a lot when I worked in a touristy place.

Some days were no problem- happy to help. On days when Iwas in a crappy mood, I would get down to one knee, looking like I was framing up the photo, and cut their heads out of the picture!

Always improved my day thinking about them getting home and developing their film........... 55555

He's quite tall for a midget.... Good shot of the kid though... although I don't understand why you put him in the background...
