Tiger Airways to fly to resort of Krabi

SINGAPORE: -- Tiger Airways is extending flights to the Thai resort of Krabi to turn it into a year-round destination, the low-cost carrier said on Wednesday.

"Since we launched services between Singapore and Krabi last year for the northern winter schedule from October 30, 2005 to March 25, 2008, there has been strong demand for our service," said Chief Executive Officer Tony Davis.

Operations have been extended for the northern summer schedule from March 26 to October 25, making the service available all year,

Fares start from 24.98 Singapore dollars (15.51 US).

With an additional 40,000 seats available for travel between the city-state and Krabi, Tiger now offers more than 300,000 seats for the summer season between Singapore and Thailand. That makes Tiger the low-cost airline with the most low-priced seats between the two countries, the carrier said in a statement.

Tiger flies to 13 cities in seven countries. In addition to Singapore and Thailand, Tiger serves destinations in Vietnam, Macau, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia.
