A good looking bike but for Indian market with Indian quality i m sure.

And also hero honda is releasing a 400cc diesel bike in India!

Funny really.

:) It will surely have gobs of torque.

But a diesel by design does not rev.

Should be interesting though to see someone go this direction

I bet a Trials bike in Diesel would be a winner ;)

I am not even sure if Trials are still big as it has been years since I looked into

that branch of the sport

Yeah good to see diesel bikes.

For adventure bikes it sounds like a winner. Lots of torque and fuel economy and range.

Hero honda makes bikes for fuel economy and 33 hp with lots of torque sounds cool.

I used enfield diesel in india.

What a buzz:D

And it was so weak but torquey. Good xp it was imo.

Since December 2010 the worlds biggest motorcycle factory, Hero-Honda has separated from Honda Co. Ltd and is now known as Hero Moto Corp.

Since the separation Hero Moto Corp has established several interesting joint ventures and cooperations, including with Erik Buell from Buell Motorcycles, they also bought Bologna-based Engines Engineering and a few more high-tech automotive/motorcycle companies.

But a 2012 press release from Hero-Honda is likely not based on reality...

The photo is of a standard Bullet refitted with a Japanese Robin diesel engine which was originally designed to power a water pump. A company in England made a number of these bikes, which were expensive because of the cost of the motor. When I was in Kashmir I rode an original Enfield diesel, these were fitted with a small Greeves engine good for about 40mph and 200mpg. The 40mph top speed was adequate on those roads.

Yeah maybr, i m not sure of the photo. Just found it ftom net. It was long time ago.

I rode it in himachal pradesh and due to the altitude, the bike was barely moving!

Enfield 500 was the only choice for that high region with backpacks and girlfriend for an OK safe riding.

Nice memories up there man on the roof of the world:D
