True Balance At 0 But I Can Still Use The Internet- What Gives? And When Will It Stop?

I was in Thailand for three months August-November. I bought a True SIM at the start of this and signed up to their 999B internet plan (7GB/month.)

I put more money in twice so I used the plan continually for the three months (it auto renews.)

I rang 1331 to cancel this in mid November as I was going to Cambodia and it did indeed cancel and I couldn't use the internet any more. I had something like 30B left in my balance then.

I'm now back from Cambodia, put the SIM in and the internet is working. But #123# shows my balance as 0.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? Could there be some secondary promotional balance that is letting me access the internet? Any way to find out? And when will it stop?

I'm only here for a week or ten days this time so won't necessarily bother with a data plan, but I'd like to have some sort of idea of how long I can expect my internet to keep working.

If it is a True-H netsim, at one time they had something like 150 MB free per month promotion. Might be that which has renewed...

Try *900# and see what comes back by sms

TrueMove H?

What is the reply when you send an SMS to 9789 with a single, lower-case "b" in the body of the SMS?

Not sure what to say to expect; this is True we're dealing with here. They seem to have the worst back-end systems, and of course lose money quarter in/quarter out, year in/year out.

My best guess, given that you've provided next to no details, is that you have some monies left over from a previous plan or promotion.

It is a Net SIM, yes. 150MB for free would be great, I can probably live with that for the week or so and not put any more money into it. *900# gets me:

หมายเลขของคุณไม่มีแพ็คเกจ 3G/WiFi/EDGE/GPRS

and then a few minutes later (not sure if this is related)

SMS 2บ.

Google translate suggests the first one just says "You have a number of packages 3G/WiFi/EDGE/GPRS" but isn't so clear what the second one might mean.

IIRC there was a code you could SMS to some number to get the data balance remaining but I've lost it.

Thanks for your help.

@lomatopo- I get the same from sending a lowercase b:

หมายเลขของคุณไม่มีแพ็คเกจ 3G/WiFi/EDGE/GPRS

There was done other code I used send to check the data, I think it was 'CP' but not sure.

Thanks for the help, I can supply any other info you might think relevant. Yes it is a True Move H Net SIM.

I don't know what is happening with your account but when my fair usage ran out, it ate what credit I had and would no longer do anything. The unlimited is with WiFi and there was no WiFi where I was at. Trying to connect to the Internet brought up a screen that said True but the rest was in Thai. I had no service at all.

I left credit on my phone and it turns out 1-2-Call were quietly deducting Bt30 a month from my prepaid even though I wasn't using it. Apparently this was part of the "package".

Some nice lady pointed it out to me and switched me to a package that doesn't do that.

I've heard of that, but my case seems to be the exact opposite, I seem to have free internet I haven't paid for! I've set my data counter for 150MB and I'll see how it lasts. Thanks again everybody for the advice.

I think the TrueMove H NetSIM 3G+ gives 100 MB of data over 60 days, and 3 hours of WiFi, as part of the 99 baht initial fee.

When you enter *123#, what is the expiration date returned?

It does seem likely that you are using that 100 MB allowance now, or that they re-instated any remaining days/MB on the third month which you paid for but suspended?

Short of asking TrueMove H, I'm not sure anyone can accurately address what might have happened, or what you might expect re: service going forward?

It stopped a bit under a week and at around 60MB consumed. I signed up to the 1GB/350 as I will be here until the end of the month.
