[Myanmar] Japanese Electronics Company Enters Burmese Market

Tokyo-based electronics equipment maker Meidensha Corp. said on Monday that it had signed an agreement with a Burmese company to provide technological cooperation for the design, manufacture and maintenance of voltage inverters, according to a report by The Japan Times. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Asia General Electric of Rangoon that will enable the Burmese firm to obtain Meidensha’s technology for manufacturing midsize and large transformers. As part of the deal, Meidensha said it would consider investing in the operations of its new Burmese partner.
