To Stay 14 Weeks ?

Featured Replies

l tried searching to answer my question,

anyhow l have a flight ticket to be in Thailand for 3 & half months,

l know l get 30 days free with my Australian passport,

so, should l do a visa run every 30 days?

to where? & how much?

or what are my visa extension options?

& their costs?

appreciate ur knowledgeable replys

Cheapest option for you is, before you leave your home country get a Double Entry Tourist Visa which will be give you on arriving 60 Days + 30 Day Extension and then do a Visa Run for again 60 Days + again a 30 Day Extension

Remembering that, without a visa, you will only get 14 days on the land borders anyway. The cost is going to add up. MJCM is spot on.

Get a double entry tourist visa from your nearest embassy/consulate arrive in the Kingdom and get stamped in for 60 days (8 weeks). If you plan to stay 14 weeks you are better off avoiding the extension as this will cost you a day and B1800 and you will still have to factor in the cost of a border run 4 weeks later (at week 12). Just do the border run the day before your stamp expiry date (just to avoid any slightly less scrupulous border guards) and come back in for another 60 days (taking you to 16 weeks).

A Double Entry Tourist Visa will get you 2 entries of 60 days each.

Each entry can be extended at Immigration by a further 30 days at a cost of 1,900 Baht.

You should get a two entry tourist visa. I suggest you get it from one the honorary consulates in Australia. Info here: http://canberra.thai.../consulate.html

You will find they give better service than the embassy or the consulate in Sydney.

appreciate ur spot on replys,

but what do l do if l'm already in Thailand?

Go to a Consulate near the end of your 30 day entry to obtain a tourist visa costing 1,000 baht for visa and cost of visa (if any) for other country and travel/overnight stay (Cambodia could be 3-4 nights). and then extend the 60 day entry for 30 days at immigration.

so lets say l fly to Kuala Lumpar & go to Thai consulate there,

ur saying l can get a 60day tourist visa from there costing about 1,000baht ?

& then when l'm back in Thailand l can extend it for another month at immigration? is that correct? what will that cost?

Yes but fee will be in local currency and probably a bit higher than 1,000 baht as they have to allow for currency fluctuations.

Extensions of stay always cost 1,900 baht fee for filing TM.7 form and on a 60 day tourist visa entry the time is an additional 30 days.
