They used to have frozen sprouts in Friendship ( haven't looked for a while )

I'm sure they have some at Macro.

It's been a long time since I have seen "fresh" Brussels Sprouts in Big C Extra even the frozen ones aren't there anymore. But you could check Foodland they normally carry them.

Friendship does occasionally stock fresh sprouts but the price will frighten you. I seem to remember about 60 baht for 8 or 10 sprouts.

makro and foodland has them, frozen

I have seen "fresh" Brussels Sprouts and Runner beans in Makro but that was Feb or March time, non there last 2 visits

I saw fresh sprouts in Makro the other day. I didn't buy any because I've booked for a few Xmas buffets, all of which include them. smile.png

Never seen proper runner beans here though and would be delighted to find some. Are you sure they weren't French beans?

No French beans I often buy them at Makro,.......... Yes these were 100% runner beans, like we grow in the UK, they were pre-packed, do wish I had bought more than 1 pack..

Frozen brussels sprouts at Big C extra and Makro. ( if they don't forget to stock them )

Living in the sticks I've never seen Brussels Sprouts except after Fukoshima, I didn't buy them....

Villa has both sprouts and parsnipr(take a fully loaded credit card) i love parsnips and we spent almost as much on them as on the bloody turkey.

Right. Those are definitely on my list next time I go. thumbsup.gif

I wonder do they come from Ethiopia like most of the ones sold in UK supermarkets these days? They are very tasty, even if they aren't exactly carbon footprint friendly.

You would think that parsnips could be grown for a pittance in China and imported here for not much more, wouldn't you?

I love them too and they are one of the first things I buy and roast when I arrive in the UK on holiday.

Wait rose in the basement of CentralFestival sell frozen parsnips, lovely roasted, and Makro stock frozen Brussels sprouts.

why you need parsnips dude, thailand has array of different vegs that are way better that parsnips,

except if you use them for a hemmeroid relief, than I understand

We looked but couldnt find them this year.

While we are on the subject of Xmas farye, anyone seen any fresh turkey being carved at any of the supermarkes, not the horrible smelly stuff sold by Y****** in a bag

That price is indeed extremely silly.

i know ,but oh that taste just once a year when they come out of the oven freshly roasted ,even my wifes sister and kids love them

I had to look up what are parsnips, but it seems that are disguised carrots ,

Think carrots are something like 20 Baht a kilo at Makro, put them in bleech for an hour or two and nobody sees the diference.

All jokes aside, isn't there something similar grown in Thailand ? I recall having seen something around

As a parsnip hater (you either love or hate them) I am pleased to say I am yet to come across anything else like them. I do understand though at this time of the year people have a hankering for comfort home country food and wish them all the best in finding Parsnips.

saw frozen brussell sprouts in makro this morning (didnt check the price)

Frozen sprouts macro 99b kilo, but accounting for the weight of the frozen water I'd say the defrosted yield would be half so your talking about 200b kilo,

I use them whenever they have them in stock and they lose very little of their weight when heated, maybe 10-15%.

Not the same as frozen fish or so.
