Collecting Uk Visitors Visa

Featured Replies

My Thai GF will be applying in January for a visitors visa to UK.

We are only staying in Bangkok 2 days, we will then go to her home near Kalasin, so will not be in Bangkok to collect documents and visa.

She was granted a visa April 2011, that time her documents were sent to collection centre in Roi Et.

There are links on the UK Border Agency web site - Additional services

Courier service

Applicants can choose to have their processed visa application, documents and passport couriered to the closest collection centre by paying a nominal additional charge.

Courier service

The visa application centre will courier your documents back to you in Thailand at an additional nominal courier charge.

Do they still use these collection centres, because I can not find their addresses?

Or do they send to home address?

Anyone used this service recently?

Tim

My gf had hers sent to our home address but I am not sure if there was any other option. I will ask her when she gets home but whether she remembers or not is another question.

Two years ago we had my wifes passport returned to the collection point in Chiang Mai. Last year (June) they appeared not to be using the collection points, instead they sent the passport and documens to our home address, for a nominal extra fee.

Thanks for replies, looks like they now send documents to home address.

Makes things a lot easier.

Anybody know what the courier fee for return of passport currently is?

Can it be paid in cash while making the application at VCS?

Just checking with my wife...

It can be paid in cash when submitting the documents and as far as my wife can remember it was about 140Baht.

They used Thai Post EMS.
