Not only did gold not keep pace with inflation, once you factor in absent reinvested dividend opportunities it lost well over 50% of its value. The trouble with gold bugs dredging their info from zerogrunge websites is that they fail do any homework of their own. Sorry to disappoint your fantasy, but hey that's showbiz.
