Tywais Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I was looking around for an app that would allow me to send an SMS from my tablet to my phone and came across this one and works quite nicely. MightText You install it on your phone and from either a tablet or PC you connect via browser to the mightytext website and type the message and send it. It uses your Google account to sync to the phone. Checked others but settled on this one and it is free.
lomatopo Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Checked others but settled on this one and it is free. The application is of course free, but you do pay your standard rate to initiate an SMS - the same as if you had done so on your phone. "100% Free (no additional charge from what your Carrier charges)" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texty.sms&hl=en And your phone does need to be on, and "in-country". The ability to have SMS "conversations", for the two or three people still doing that via a PC or tablet, along with the synch capabilities, is interesting, especially if you are a service provider.
TommoPhysicist Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 What's wrong with Google 'Talk' and Google 'Messenger'? Most smartphones can use them.
