gobs
Couple of test shots from the newly aquired Russian Юпитер 37A, designed from the zeiss jena sonnar 135/3.5 after the zeiss factories got bombed in the war. Not bad for B2000 Beautiful rendition, RW. Congratulations for your "cheap purchase"! For sure the best can expected from the Sonar lens formula. As seen above, the OOF background should be great too... Russians/Soviets made some superb lenses.

Popular Post gobs
Following Rythmnworx's path above, today first quick test of a vintage Asahi Pentax SMC Super Takumar 135 f/3.5 lens full open. And as expected, smooth transition in OOF distances, and bubbles in the background.
Popular Post rhythmworx
The bubble test I've been itching to do, but my fairy lights are in the loft and my LED strip needs batteries. Heres a link from a while back http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/709345-three-kings/ Also FR's jupiter 11 butterfly shot http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/695151-by-jupiter/ I'm in a bit of a quandary as theres some nice cheap old glass I'd like but am limited by the long registry distance on F-mount. Luckily the 37A is adaptable whilst retaining infinity focus, I think maybe all Russian A (adaptable) lenses are. I'd like a Helios 44-7 amongst others, maybe one day I will switch to fuji/OM/sony Anyway to avoid clogging the thread with my waffle, heres a shot from the nik 200 f4 ais Edited July 4, 2016 by rhythmworx

Popular Post Ron19
1st Dragonfruit of the year has flowered. Never thought at the time that I should have taken a shot down from the front of the flower. I'll slip down there now to see if I can get a good shot.

rhythmworx
^^^ Which version is it? I could of had 2 of these for 500 baht for both, 44M and a 44-2, not adaptable to my camera with infinity focus though as far as I know.

Popular Post gobs
^^^ Which version is it? I could of had 2 of these for 500 baht for both, 44M and a 44-2, not adaptable to my camera with infinity focus though as far as I know. Thanks for your interest RW My copy is an early one: Helios-44 M39, aperture pre-set, 8 blades, and... a ugly aluminium finish look nowadays! In this old Helios-44 M39 family (50s-60s?) I like the softness full open and as well the soft contrast. It's an old fashion photography lens for a vintage look pic. Very good in B&W especially for a vintage rendition if appreciated... Another flower with the Helios-44 lens full open: As you can see, delicate softness all over the pic, even the focus fading goes smooth. Great for me, but not for everyone I guess Cheers
