Please help me with my near-term (12 months) memory.

I am due to file my second Non-O extension in Udon Thani on grounds of Thai spouse. I won't have the 400k baht seasoned for long enough so I am planning on using the proof of income letter. I did this last year in addiction to having the appropriate amount of money correctly seasoned in the Thai bank.

I understand that it can be 400k baht seasoned for 2 months in a Thai bank OR proof of average minimum 40k baht/month (or equivalent in foreign currency in any bank) income. Is that correct?

I can't find the copy of the proof of income letter issued last year at the British Embassy and I can't recall exactly what I submitted in order to obtain it beyond bank statements and pay slips. Is there a template or sample letter available? I do recall that they asked me for the exchange rates to be used when I submitted the paperwork. The letter was issued and eventually accepted as part of last years extension submission.

Finally, what is the cost and time for the British Embassy to issue this letter? I don't recall having to get any specific MFA endorsement or translation on the letter as I believe that Thai Immigration accepted this correspondence in English as long as it was the original.

They have a standard format for the letter. Cost is 2250 baht and you can get letter by mail.

Cheers ubonjoe. I will drop by the embassy Thursday morning with the passport copy and proof of income originals, pop over to Saigon on business and get them to mail it to Udon since I won't be back until Friday afternoon.
