I plan to go to Burma this Songkran and will apply at the embassy on Sathorn Rd for a 30 day tourist visa.

What I'd like to know is, when does the visa actually start? Does it start the moment it's issued at the embassy in Bangkok or is it activated upon arrival at Rangoon airport?

It's valid for a certain amount of time.

It is activated when you arrive at Yangon.

For example, if I went early March to get the visa, would it still be valid for travel in April?
