Two-Way Pact Reached To Thwart Bribery In Thai Govt Procurement Process

Featured Replies

'Outsiders will witness the signing.'

As if that will make a difference!

Now the rhetoric is out of the way, what's needed is a complete reversal of the usual amoral, corrupt behaviour and a truly honest desire to conduct business in a way that really benefits Thailand and her people.

Now, where did I put my flying pig?

You have to give the PT credit for setting up the committee.

"Kittiratt himself, who is also a deputy prime minister, is chairman of the Anti-Corruption Cooperation Committee."

How ever I really really really have a problem with a committee chaired by a man who openly claims it is OK to lie.

Funny you mention that. I recently read he is so serious about fighting corruption, he has chaired exactly 0 meetings in the year or so that he has been chairman.

I, myself would not sign a contract that attacks my moral character. Of course these criminals do not know what a high moral standard should be, so obviously dont understand how ridiculous it actually makes them look.

ahh...a pact hub.

Both sides sign to agree to share equally.

A so-called integrity pact will be created as part of joint public-private efforts to prevent bribery in the government procurement process.

A good job for Kittiratt the authorised liar..........

Last Thursday, Kittiratt admitted that sometimes he had to exaggerate about the country's economic growth even though the government had been fully aware since early this year that the global economic slowdown was likely to affect Thailand.

"But [the government] |must aim high in order to create confidence," he said. "The finance minister needs to |lie sometimes to create good feelings. The world knows this as a 'white lie'. As leader of |the government's economic team, I'm allowed to tell white lies. The goal is to create confidence, which in turn benefits the country's economy as a whole," he said.
