Pattalung governor inspected areas to follow-up on poverty eradication projects.

Pattalung (พัทลุง) governor Prachak Suwanpakdi (ประจักษ์ สุวรรณภักดี ) inspected Bang Kaew (บางแก้ว) district to follow progress of the anti-poverty projects for farmers.

The governor inspected watermelon farming in rubber plantations in Ban Klong Kra An (บ้านคลองกระอาน), and found that the products have been bought by merchants from other provinces who offer the price of 4-6 baht per kilogram. Later, Mr. Prachak inspected the plantation scheme in a project aimed at helping poor people after flooding incident. He visited the villagers and found that the villagers can make around 1,000-1,500 baht per week from selling their produce.

Mr. Prachak said that the anti-poverty campaign can be successful if farmers participating in the program work hard and carefully spend their money.

Is that a sustained income of 1000-1500 a week, or only when the crops ripen and get to market??

Even if it is sustained income, it is not much to live on, for a family!!

Huh!

5-6000 baht a month in the rural areas is more than enough!

Ok you can not drive a car, mobile phone and go on holiday 2 times a year. But it will pay for the food, house and basic education for the children.

Many families would be very happy when they have that amount of money every month.

Our messangers (the guys who deliver our products) get 7000 per month, but pay the gasoline, the oil, the service the motorbike themself (we help if there is an bigger problem), but end of the month they have maybe 4000 and that seems to be OK.
