I'd take a close look at the premiums and the payback if I were you. Most Thai insurance is pretty low payout compared with similar premiums from, say the UK.

I would take a careful look at products in your home country.

A Thai thinks 100,000 baht is a fortune, but $2500 will not go far.

Would pay for a decent funeral.

Nothing wrong with overlapping coverage. Especially for folks out there who have beneficiaries who are less than adept at liasing with insurance agents half a world away in English (and that few million Baht locally can make it much easier to access the bulk of the insurance benefits abroad, in person).

yes, you can, and get tax deduction for it as well if you are paying thai tax.

That said, I get better coverage OS anyway.
