Hi

Need some help pls. I am relocating to Thailand and am shipping my musical fidelity hifi equipment ( 6 years old A3.2CD, pre and power amp), wharfedale speakers, Marantz amplifier and Rel sub woofer. I am concerned about power supply differences between uk and thailand and what if anything I need to do to protect the hifi from power fluctuations and different power voltages, etc...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also does anybody know a good hifi shop in Chiang Mai who could help me reinstall all the biwire and biamping cables, etc...

Cheers

I would worry much more about protecting your equipment from the "customs men" than the power supply

which is 240v ( ish ) 50 hz same as the UK.

Nominal power is the same, 220V 50Hz, so plug in and go. You'll probably want to install a power conditioner / voltage regulator and surge suppression kit.

No idea about the cables I'm afraid.

Draw a diagram and label the cables as you dismantle

perhaps a photo or two,

then reassembly should be straight forward.

Stuff here is cheap and everywhere as ''sounds'' are part of the culture. As stated above, you might be in for a shock with customs ''officials''. sad.png
