Thai Visa On Entry

Featured Replies

I am currewntly here on a APEC 3 month Visa but I plan on applying for a retirewment Visa so I know I need an O Visa so I plan on leaving the country to gain a Holiday Visa as a start then I will progrees to applying for a O visa and then a Retirement Visa. I know all the pre requisites for Visa's so that is not the question the question is:

Can I do a one day Visa run to the border and gain a 28day holiday Visa ? I know there a multiple places that do this bus run

Edited by mmail2you

visas are 30 days at an Consulate or if you have a Multi entry tourist visa.

If you leave and return at a land border you will get 15 days.

30 days by air.

OK so basically I have to leave and re entret Via airport for 28 day Visa otherwise I just get a 15 day Visa

What is your passport country? That will determine what entry you obtain with a border crossing. But if you plan to convert this entry to non immigrant O at immigration office you should plan to do so immediately as they may require 15 days remaining on your stay. And you will have to provide financial paperwork at that time and cost of visa will be 2,000 baht. For most people it is easier to just visit a Consulate on an overnight trip to obtain a single entry O visa then and there and return to Thailand using it.
