Buying New Condo, Should I Go For Furniture Package Offered By Builder Or Buy On My Own Furniture?

Hello ... so I bought a 45 sqm studio in Kata beach and got email from the builder that they offer furniture package. Cost is 320 K BHT, and includes bed, table, tv and tv stand, etc. It is convenient but seems pricey. So, better to buy on my own, or go with the package? I don't live in Phuket but can fly there for a week or so. Advice please!

At 320k yea id do it myself also.

Just take a walk around index mall (its like an asian IKEA) and you will see how far your money will go, there no way you need to be spending that kind of money in my opinion, unless you want to.

I rent a house unfurnished, so i had to do it myself also and its pretty easy as everywhere seems to deliver. Plus when they deliver they will assemble your furniture and put it where ever you want it to go at no extra cost.

lastly you will have your pad looking how you want it to look. Feeling like your own home, so a no brainer to me.

You say you can fly there for a week or so? What are you planning on doing with this condo? I hope it wasn't an "Investment."

That's really expensive. My condo in Bangkok came with 200,000 in coupons to buy furniture for but I only used half.

For your size place it seems too high. In Kathu lots of furniture shops. Better to get a big plasma flat screen and pick and choose from SB, Index and some small things from Big C/Tesco furniture isle.

Don't knock the latter, you can find some diamonds there. Picked up a beautiful creme two-three seater faux leather couch there once for like 3000.

One thing to remember is that it will be unlikely they can deliver to you within a week , sure somethings but depending on what you choose may take two to three weeks or so to arrive.

Also if your flying into Phuket for a week or so , do you really want to spend your time just shopping for furniture ? If you are then you can add the cost of the flight into consideration aswell.

If the developer is offering a package for 320k sure hes making a profit , but you'd get to enjoy Phuket , guess thats why you bought the Condo in the first place.

Guess it boils down to hassle free on the beach enjoying your time or saving money on the developers price going from shop to shop .

Both have there arguments for and against ,

Buying your own is a no brainer, lets face it, a 45m2 apartment isn't going to take long to fill. Choosing your own bed/mattress here to suit you alone should make your mind up for you.

Thanks everyone for your replay and suggestions. So I think I will buy everything on my own. It may be a challenge to have it delivered in 1-2 weeks, but will see.

Cheers!
