Good. While they are at it maybe they can investigate this case as well. Not that anything will come of it as we all know Israel will just snub its nose at the world community as it always does.

Shhhh, no one is supposed to know about that. Israel is a fine upstanding member of the international community and would definitely follow the law to inform another govt if they detained one of their citizens.

Surrrrrre.

Perhaps Israel might take a bit more notice of the U.N when it ceases to act like a politically motivated circus and investigates alleged transgressions by all member states with equal zeal. Google is your friend, these sort of incidents happen almost on a daily basis, such as the Nigerian who died in Chinese police custody. I wonder how many times the U.N saw fit to investigate, let alone a doctor of the same nationality of the deceased being present at the autopsy.

Still it allows leftists to salivate like Pavlov's dog, which is what this is all about at the end of the day.

Perhaps it might stop hotheads using the death of Arafat Jaradat as a motive pretext for rioting if the press desisted from tendentious and speculative reporting. It would also perhaps be helpful if the U.N held fire on calling for an independent inquiry when the Israeli government stated clearly they are awaiting the results of toxicological tests arranged as part of the autopsy, the UN stance smacks of saying, we don't believe you are capable of an objective investigation.

The death of a man is being used by activists and politicians to tar
Israel without evidence. Such information is of course, again, being
cited as fact by BBC correspondents

Fantastic, so you agree that what Israel did was ok. What a warped world you live in. By your analogy if someone else commits murder then it is ok for you to commit murder. Good one.

What you don't seem to understand that it is the majority of the world that are against what Israel has been doing. The Oz govt is getting sick and tired of the Israeli govt's lies and deceipt from the false aussie passports used by Israeli terrorists to murder people to the illegal building of settlements.

The majority of the world is against what Israel does. Have fun with your minority view.

Without proof, or an investigation there are no facts to agree or disagree with, allyou are left with the mentality of the lynch mob. coffee1.gif The rest of your post if off topic.

In preference to most of the Countries in the UNHRC or much of the liberal press, yes, any day.

This is not an isolated other have died in exact same circumstances including Australian that the israelies tried to cover up and hide. One could be ofrgiven for thinking that this is normal practice.

Come on, an article regurgitated from a Gulf newspaper is only ever going to contain the same lies, blood libel and malicious falsehoods that they invariably engage in. The injuries claimed in your link were not reported by either the BBC or Al-Jazeera, both of whom normally strain every sinew to paint Israel in a bad light. There is one aspect of the link which is spot on though, namely the thought this may lead to a third intifada, which was already in the pipeline and in search of a pretext whilst the Arab spring was still fresh.

I suspect this guy is already in the ground so whatever autopsy that has been performed would have had to have been done under Israeli supervision. I haven't seen other findings in this matter but if you are aware of any, please post them. This is just business as usual and I honestly have very little interest in the matter.

Good,

and after this, if the UN can find some time,

Maybe can address the 10's of thousands dying just across the boarder.

Or any number of thousands dying in other police custody.

Now you touched on another subject..

Muslims can kill muslims in the thousands (e.g Syria) and no muslim mobs go out on the streets across the region, bleating

A non-muslim entity (Israel) kills one muslim, they are out on the streets braying for blood...

Tribalism at its best..

Would you be referring to the 885 Palestinians killed in Syria during the last two years (Hamas's own figures), but as you point out dead Palestinians are ten a penny unless there is any propaganda value that can be added.

I know what you mean. I cant agree with you more.

But you know it goes with the territory. We know that.

Shiites and sunni go after each other with little more than a by line.

A US/EU pull out maybe the worst thing that can happen there now

They can go after each other all they want, its just a byline.

But with all the killing going on across the border in Syria

Thousands and thousands

and its still going on,

and the news oiut of the UN is on something that happened in 2010?

Dont get me wrong, its should be investigated

but do it after you saved some thousands of lives first.

Someone/something needs to cool tensions now before more violence breaks out. Yes tensions and violence have been in place for a while, but things could quickly escalate in the next month especially with incidents like this with the prisoner and the recent beating of the arab woman by the jewish mob at the light rail line. I think we will never know what happened to that prisoner, ive read mixed accounts.

Obama's trip went from being pointless (he said he would come to listen, not act) to possibly not even happening (now he says he wont come if benji cant get an coalition). Which is too bad; maybe, just maybe he could have done something to cool things.

eh...wishful thinking..

Israel, fine upstanding pillars of the international community. Surrre.

And to think the US continues to give them aid. All aid and assistance to Israel should be immediately suspended until they put their house in order. Israel would be the first to jump up and down if this happened in any other middle east country.

Based on what? The uncorroborated opinion of the Palestinian doctor? Even if that opinion is borne out Israel's behaviour is far less serious than that routinely found in the rest of the middle East and many more besides. Perhaps stopping aid to Egypt and Pakistan should be higher up the list of priorities, unless of course one knowingly agrees with a double standard. Just the other day Kerry rubber stamped a $250 million loan to Egypt, who murder and torture their own citizens by the score.

The $250 million isn't a loan to be repaid by Egypt. It is an outright gift to the Muslim Brotherhood led government and is the first payment of a $1 Billion gift, compliments of the Obama administration.

What double standard? Israel is the oppressor so the onus is on them.

By your thoughts, if someone tortures and murders it is ok for you to do it, and you can also hold yourself out to be better than tham. Interesting.

What other countries are doing is off topic. This is about what Israel has done. So enough with the smoke and mirrors bullshit and discuss THIS topic.

Sure, investigate it. Israel's legit beef with the UN is the obvious lack of balance in their actions against Israel compared to many other much worse global offenders.

to behave as a primitive society and, at the same time, constantly portraying itself as a civilized nation gets old
