Pheu Thai to complain to EC about fraud

BANGKOK: -- The Pheu Thai Party said yesterday it would file complaints with the Election Commission of fraud in some districts during the election for Bangkok governor.

Danuporn Punnakan, spokesman of the party's election centre, said voters had used their cameras to snap their marked ballots and posted the pictures on social media, which could mislead the public. Meanwhile, the party had deployed volunteers to monitor vote counting at all polling booths to compare the official election results with what they had collected at all polling stations.

In Wang Thong Lang district, someone voted twice while another voter found four strangers included in his household but his own name was not on the eligible voter list, he said.

Deputy party spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat said the party is considering taking action against election officials in Pasi Charoen district for having more than one ballot and crossing them. They also possessed several ID cards.

Pheu Thai Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit thanked voters for exercising their voting rights despite heavy rains yesterday.

The party called a press conference to thank their supporters after all ballot boxes were closed.

Prompong said the party was satisfied with the election overall, as it believed the vote counting would be carried out in a fair manner even though there had been some complaints of electoral frauds.

If I can remember correctly, Thaksin said "it didn't matter who PTP chose as candidate, a light pole could win the election (I can't find the article, sorry). So they lose and see BKK people aren't as easily swayed as their rural counterparts.

You lose, walk away, please!!!

Poor diddums the Thaksin tribe and their brown nosing acolytes all of them

People are getting more savvy as they see the relentless pursuit of the P.T.P.( Parasites Tick Party ) and their avowed aim to destroy democracy at the behest of one person who seeks to destroy Thailand.

This election result proves again it's not going to work, the whitewash is thinning down.

The complaints are indeed hilarious, perhaps those complaints mean that the palm oil didn't work too well for the squawking loser and his puppet masters party.

The way this is described there shouldn't be a "considering taking action", report it!

They have spokesmen: so they have to say something,

and the only things coming to mind is the behind the scenes whining

that they have been hearing the last hour. Improvise,; repeat the sour grapes.

I don't know what bearing it would have on the outcome, but the polling location for our area was a huge, fenced off, vacant lot. The gate was opened only enough to allow foot traffic to enter, leaving nowhere for voters to park their cars. Many simply said screw it and drove away.

Are they trying to "split atoms " here just because they lost the local election ? What a pathetic cry out for help. What ever happened to accepting a result ?

No one is challenging the ellection results in terms of who won. The complaints are standard procedure when any of your officails notice electorial fraud. Reporting obvious fraud is a legal obligation on the part of party officials of all the contenders. ( Hope your officals will do it too)

Cancelling the ballot papers where duplicate ID cards are found is a standard procedure. Members of the public placing images on the web that attempt to manipulate any voter on election day is a criminal offence (if anyone crossed that line that is).

Be satisfied in your triumph you have won a sizable victory. Instead of being infantile try to concentrate on building your parties reputation off of this electoral triumph, that is if you want to win the next generasl election. It's amazing what you might achieve by being positive.

Further it is of course a pity that the winning candididate that had nothing to offer the people. Maybe your candidate could adopt some of Pongsapat great initiatives.

I would also encourage you to work hard to eradidicate corruption (if it exists) from within your party. Maybe then we will attain the Thailand that we all dream of someday.

Congratulations on your victory.
