Vios vs Sport Rider Road crash in North Pattaya

PATTAYA:--In the early hours of Sunday, Police and rescues services were called to the scene of a road accident on the Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya which left a Toyota Hilux Sport Rider on its side and a Toyota Vios badly damaged. Five people were injured, one seriously.

The crash occurred at the U-turn situated before the North Pattaya intersection on the Sukhumvit Road on the Bangkok-bound carriageway.

Those involved in the crash and independent witnesses reported seeing the Sport Rider coming out of a Petrol Station. It then crossed all four lanes of the highway towards the U-turn slip lane. It was later confirmed the driver intended to join the Highway 7 to Bangkok.

A fast approaching Black Toyota Vios was in the far right hand lane and was seen to clip the left-side of the Sport Rider

I've had to brake for this same idiotic move countless times by Thai drivers. Rather than go up the road and do a safe u-turn, they don't see any reason why they can't just cut 2 minutes off their drive time, even if it makes other drivers brake suddenly or even crash.
