Unlocking Pin On Atm Card

Featured Replies

Has anyone successfully unlocked their pin using an ATM machine in chiang Mai. My bank is Barclays in the UK they says should be able to unlock the pin using any ATM. I couldn't do it at a Bangkok bank ATM

Is there a HSBC ATM in CM.

Thanks

HSBC stopped domestic (private) banking in Thailand last year.

Unlock a pin ? doubt you can do that at any ATM even in the UK, Change PIN - maybe, if you know the current PIN

UK PINs cannot be unlocked outside the UK, that can only be done on a LINK/VISA/MC ATM by selecting PIN Services then UNLOCK PIN, renter correct PIN.

IF the PIN was locked at a PIN & CHIP POS it MUST be unlocked at an ATM in the UK as above. If locked at an ATM either carry out the above at an ATM (if you were in the UK) or just wait 24 hrs when it will magically unlock.

Suggest try it at another ATM (after 24hrs) it will not do any harm - it is an urban myth that ATMs retain cards after 3 fails

Many times terminals, or operators report PIN errors when in fact it is a chip/machine reading error or another block on the card. Your bank will tell you what it actually is.

How did you lock your pin and are you resident (as far as the bank is concerned) in Thailand,
