There were quite a few other tourists gaggling around. I stood on the edge of the ledge between the Sphinx and the old path from the mortuary to Khafre's pyramid. My guide was able to snap the pic when the crowds parted for a brief instance.

Same thing for the pic at the base Cheops pyramid. Hordes of people milling around, even at 8 in the morning. Most people get so caught up in the big 3, that they miss all the stuff around the pyramids. I went there twice during that trip and got to see things most tourists will never even know about.

Thank you Kerryd, when I was in Giza it was impossible for me to take a picture of the Sphinx with no tourist... Let alone any of the piramids...it was better in Philae (sp?)temple
