My Apartment Building Just Posted Increased Electric And Water Rates

Featured Replies

Stop complaining and turn your fridge and freezer off.

Bags of ice are still 8THB at 7-11.

I am so tired of you Farangs who wont adapt to the Thai way of living...

What a stupid statement

Is the Thai way of living being ripped off? Of course not most Thais have to watch each and every Baht they spend

The OP is paying double the rate for his electric and is being lied to by the management about the price of Electric going up

If you think there is nothing wrong with that then you must get some sort of sexual thrill when you get overcharged for something

Fish on!

for info; I used 33 m3 water last month total charge was 689bt, thats in total 20.87bt per unit.

note the charge includes a general service charge of 30bt and tax of 45bt.

so your charge of 23bt is not unreasonable,.............but you know what to do if you are not happy...........DONT USE IT !!

Not unreasonable ???

My water bill struggles to get over 80bt a month, we water the garden with it !!

I just can't understand how you lot justify these huge prices to yourselves... blink.png

Just for the record, I was aware that I am paying more than what the building is paying. I don't fault the building owners for marking up the electricity, as long as it is reasonably fair. When I moved there the middle of last year, they just increased their electricity rate from 6B to 7B so going up another 2B seemed excessive. On top of that, they delivered the increase notice 12 days after they decided to increase the rates.

My electricity bill isn't too bad since we don't use AC. I also save water by putting a number of small sand filled water bottles in my toilet tank to reduce the amount of water per flush. We also recycle water from the sink when we wash the vegetables or clean the dishes and use this water for toilet number one use.

If little garden use my bill is around 250, with garden use around 450. No leaks, meter is static when no water is drawn. thumbsup.gif
