webfact Posted March 13, 2013 Share Posted March 13, 2013 PM Yingluck turns down rumors of upcoming Cabinet reshuffle BANGKOK, 13 March 2013 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has turned down rumors, which suggested another round of Cabinet reshuffle is now on the horizon.PM Yingluck Shinawatra said on Tuesday that there is no plan for a Cabinet shake-up being considered at the moment while promising to keep the public informed of such development when a decision is made.The PM stated that any change to the Cabinet line-up requires thorough and careful consideration before a conclusion can be drawn.When asked about the government’s pushing for amnesty law, Ms. Yingluck said the issue is the responsibility of the Legislative Branch and the chief whips of the government, the opposition and the Senate have already been asked to discuss the details of this widely-watched law.The Premier also rejected claims that she has been pressured by former PM Thaksin Shinawatra for a speedy passing of the draft National Reconciliation Bill.She asserted that reconciliation in a country requires more discussion and exchange of ideas among all related parties in order to identify the best and violence-free way out of the years-long conflicts, for the good of Thailand and its people. -- NNT 2013-03-13 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

slapout Posted March 13, 2013 Share Posted March 13, 2013 If this government ever gets around to presenting its accomplishments for the first year in power, its going to be via 3rd hand or more info. The PM has, not been in attendence enough to know her way to the head, much less what her cabinet members say or have done/agreed to. About the only way for the cabinet to become more tragic is to shuffle them to another new position, from which they can find another purse string. Although some Pheu Thai MPs gave up their MP position when they joined the cabinet to allow other party list members to move up and get to be MP, I don't think our Dept. Minister of Agriculture k. Whenever that occurs, it is essential that they are removed, or their portfolio changed, before they think they are competent enough to make suggestions. PTP policy is dictated from Dubai. If we go back prior to the general election he was supposedly rebuked by Thaksin on several occasions for spitting the dummy, threatening to set up his own party and the infamous speech in parliament when he said that if ever he was to be PM there were a lot of people in the house who had better watch their backs. Other than loyalty to Thaksin and maybe cronyism he brings nothing to the table than a big mouth and a red face, he is a total embarrassment. Thai politics ? When did they change there method of choosing cabinet ministers? Any chance of her telling her brother he is not the Prime Minister in any way what so ever and his services will no longer be needed. Any effect on state pension, or other possible benefits?
