Retirement Visa Renewal At Cm Immigration

So what are the proceedures now for renewing a retirement Visa? Do I still need to show up at 0630, sign a log and wait till 0830 for them to give me a queue ticket, or has this part changed. I know what documentation I need, just curious about the hurry and wait process.

Go at 6.30 and be told later you were too late and you should come back the next day.

Or you could book online providing all the slots have not been taken up by American women and others booking for their 90 day reports and preventing people using the booking system solely for visa's.

Hi Kiniyeow , It pays to plan well ahead ,You can select a date and time when you want to make an appointment ,refer

to thread at top of this forum, you can book a place 100 days ahead.

If you need to renew in say the next month ,places will most likely be fully booked, but check, otherwise you need to

get to Immigration,6-6.30,first to get parking place, then to join the crowd to get ticket, and if you are lucky you will get

it done that day,and do not leave your renewal until the last day ,I always do mine a couple of weeks before.

good luck regards Worgeordie

Immigration staff should tell anyone using the on-line booking system, to come back the next day or later. It's wrong to abuse the system, but it's equally wrong for the immigration staff not to do their job properly and to let the abuser gain any advantage.

The previous method--turn up early a.m.--about 6.00 am., and sign an 'unofficial' list outside is not working now--at least it wasn't 3 weeks ago when I did my extension renewal--I got there about 06.00 am, and signed my name and time and was about 16 in the 'unofficial' queue--I took my daughter to school and returned at about 07.40 am, and waited for an Immigration officer to walk out and collect the list--Dream On, HB,--at 08.00 am the back door, near the coffee shop got opened and there was the usual scrum to get through the door on the inside of which an Immigration Officer was issuing numbers for the queue and they took FA notice of our farang 'unofficial' list outside--I got number 106--Som Nam Na--some might say, but, the 'sign outside system' 'used' to be the way to go--I should have done what you are doing and asked before--I got finished at about 5pm the same day--better than a return next day, though, I guess.

So,it seems that you need to get there early enough to find a spot close to the back door--and sharpen your elbows!

surely no one is using the on line booking system for 90 day reporting, how selfish and irresponible, can see them stopping that system if its going to get abused by completly thoughtless, morons.

Believe it is for visa extensions only, not for 90 day reporting.

It is Mario but there's no drop down menu, so I guess you can write in what you like.

Maybe it's too complicated for some people?

They don't have need to stop it, but if anyone does use it for that purpose they should just turn them away or fine them wink.png

I doubt it happens often, but when it does immigration should act!!!.......no mai bpen rai

If you read my post--there is no need--just be standing near the back door at 08.00 am--anyone who turns up early doesn't get any guarantees.

Has CM immigration really developed the unsolvable problem?

Is there no one there who can develop a workable format for lining up?

Blaming Bangkok all the time is not the way out, someone there should be smart enough to come up with an idea.

Maybe they enjoy the morning stampede, starts the day off with a laugh.laugh.png

There is no way in hell they did 106 Renewals in one day. At a guess using two desks they get through about 40 a day.

It dosen't seem to follow any pattern other than try to avoid days before and after holidays. I was there at 8:00 in the first week of October and was out of there by 3:00.

ive used the booking system for extension of stay twice now, and its a time saver to beat all time savers, from arrival at imm to picking up passport with new 12 month visa in has not taken 45 minutes of my time, please dont mess it up,as we will all suffer.use the system propaly.

Just finished the Visa renewal today and noticed slight changes to the morning process of hurry and wait. We arrived at 0645 and stood on the ramp that leads up to the back door and noticed that there was no longer a log to sign into to get a queue number. Once the back door opened up at 0730, you have to take a laminated number and sit and wait till 0800 when they start calling your number and go to the front counter to get the queue ticket you need depending on what you are there for. (I also noticed that you need to get a queue ticket now for the 90 day report, where last time we just walked up to the counter.) Once we got our number, it took us about two hours till they called our number and was served, not too bad overall, but next year, I'll try the online scheduling and see how that goes.

God afternoon to everybody on this beautiful and hot Monday.

Can i please ask if the online system is supposed to be used for renewal of 1 year visa only, or can it be for the extension of stay as well? As you very well may have guessed, i am currently on the 1 year Retirement O visa, which gives one opportunity to explore the neighboring countries every 3 month.

Thank you

Rasmus

Rasmus, you don't "renew" a retirement visa, you "extend your permission to stay for 12 months due to retirement". And yes, it is appropriate to use the on-line appointment reservations system to arrange an appointment to obtain your retirement extension that will be tied to your O visa.

On another note -- am I the only one offended by the slur against American women in post no. 2? Not only is the comment bigoted, it's false. If "Thailand" had actually taken the time to look at the current on-line queue, he'd find that all the appointment slots are booked for the next 90 days and furthermore, you have to list "reason for visa extension" when you make an appointment. Pretty much prevents someone for using the on-line reservations system for 90 day reports -- American women included.

Why would anyone NOT use the online system?

Gosh that is a tough question.

You read to much Thai Visa

I will give you facts here you go hang on to your seat.

There is only 10 appointments a day and they service close to 40 a day.

There is only about 240 working days a year not 960.

Next

time you read about how easy it was see if they just got any old time

they wanted like there was no one else trying to get the time they

wanted.
