stament
Hi, I've searched on here for the answer to this but everything seems to be the reverse of my situation so no help. I am married to my thai wife and we live in the UK. We had a baby son in the UK who now has a British passport. We now want to get him a thai passport. Am I right in saying that my wife won't be able to get this on her own in Thailand without me being there to sign some sort of documentation (as that's what I've gathered from the topics I've read on TV). Many thanks
Maestro
If your wife and son are still with you in the UK at the moment you should apply for your son's passport at the Thai embassy in London.
samran
Nb, he'll need a Thai birth certificate first and that can only be issued by the Thai embassy in London. But you can apply for a passport at the same time.
Mario2008
Per above, the child must first be registered with the Thai embassy in the UK to receive a Thai birth certificate. At the same time the passport can be applied for. Both parents must sign the passport application and the child must appear in person for the passport picture. Getting the passport in Thailand is more difficult, as the child will need to be on a hosehold registration book.
