Mortage Loan For Buying Condo In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi,

Two years ago my thai wife signed a contract to buy a condo in Bangkok build by Pruksa Real Estate and finished in May this year.

The price is 1,8 mill Baht and we have payed down 200k so we have to pay 1,6mill when takeover in May.

Is there any banks that can loan us about 1 mill. (we have 600k in cash self) ?

We both work and live in Norway, but my wife have both Thai Id card and Norwegian Passport.

PS! The condo now have a value of approx. 2,2 mill Bath.

Best Regards from Rolf

Give a mortgage to your wife for 1 million baht on a 1.8 million baht condo, seems possible. You will probably have to be a co-signer for the loan. Just find a bank willing to fork over the 1 million baht given that both of you are living and working in Norway.

We will try to apply at SCB in Bangkok ,

Ok I got a loan from SCB , but they want a life insurance for 56K for a loan 640k. I feel thats too much. And the constuctor for the new condo made the condo 0,6 sqm bigger than in the contract and they charge me 37k for that.

Can they by the law do that?

Yes it's in the contract that variances in size aww charged or deducted at the agreed upon Sqm price.
