How Does Bkk Compare To Other Capitals In Region For Net And Phone Connection

Curious to hear from regular visitors/sojourners in Jakarta, Singapore, Hanoi, Singapore etc. Imagine you can set up for 45 days in any se, s or e asian capital and you don't care about cost of accommodation and food. All you care about is quality/value of net and mobile access in order to do business, send huge files, whatever. You can live in Taipei, Mumbai, Phnom Penh etc. But speed must be dazzling fast or cheap per gb. My observation in cambodia and singapore is that for transitory types like me on a budget, or in fact anyone, the companies bs their customers. they *say* their speed is fast but in the real world those are maximums, heavily dependent on times of day and places in the city. Heck, in Ang Mo Kyo in Singapore both my mobile and a buddy's laptop air card were essentially unusable and we had to go outside to get a connection. Really. We called and complained but they never sent a servuceman to come see for themselves the problem. That company was corrected/fined by the singapore gov't for lying to its customers, but things have gone down since. i think the challenge is finding a country and city where the communications infrastructure is ahead of the using population. I have heard that Seoul (and to get way off topic, Moldava) are fabulous value. But I mean in mainland or if necessary archipeligo s.e. asia if possible, unless of course Thailand is actually a better deal, e.g. use company ABC in Phuket or company XYZ in Chiang Rai.perhaps there is an up to date website (not supported by advertsing from the companies it rates) where one can look up current status and deals. who's hot, who's not etc.
