Simply amazing Thailand

Simply amazing how many times BIB are involved in these types of activities

They are all over Thailand involved, blink.png as participating players and as bribes takers beforehand.

Nearly every village, (or every village?) at least in Isaan, has one or more of Thai card - dice game places. (High-Low, Bog Daeng ect.)

I saw it even-with the men in brown, in a small Soi between Sukhumvit Soi 11 and 11/1 without real cover up!rolleyes.gif

I thought already, to participate with a Black Jack table in the Isaan village, I live. tongue.png

In a real police department, if a policeman commits a crime he is charged and put in jail. If your police department is nothing more than a thinly veiled mafia in nice uniforms like Thailand, then punishment in fact consists of having to step away from the feeding trough, AKA inactive post. But I guess with only a 30 day vacation from the trough, that should not really jeopardize the monthly payments on the Mercedes Benz, and the mia noi will have to lean out her lifestyle for the month.....lol...

what is their crime exactly here in this case?

Taking bribes for show a blind eye and so it is CORRUPTION! tongue.png

Turning a blind eye to a criminal operation (& probably profiting from it). Unfortunately the corrupt BIB are off to an inactive post but the poor punters are locked up. And FYI, the police do have the power to set bail before a court appearance.

be negligent, turning a blind eye or profiting from it are quite different things. we don't know what is the case here.

if i read it right its off to an inactive post so they cannot interfere in ongoing investigations. so there is maybe more to come. they consider to punish a Maj Gen.

i don't think bail is set arbitrarily by the police. in this and other cases. they follow the law. have rules for it.

there are a lot of decent police men in Thailand not all are bad.

i don't get this mud throwing at anything here. for what?

You should have taken that -NICK- "Don Quixote of La Mancha"

At least you will fight same him against Windmills here on Thaivisa. rolleyes.gif

"Never argue with an idiot. They will only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." Mark Twain

Good one, I know that with a slight different wording,

-Do not Try to Reason with "Unreasonable People". They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!-

Can some one clue me in?

What is an inactive post?

Ok dolly for your education and edification 2 inactive posts.

It would seem nobody has been sent there yet.

Sorry couldn't get the pic to open you will have to click to see.

Thank you thank you thank you !!!!! I have spent many years here puzzling over the elusive inactive posts so often referred to when " Thai Police go Bad" . But your photo is the first time I have seen them in action.. :-)

Surely these are two potential-candidates if-needed, for the PTP-party, next time there's an election coming up ? wink.pnglaugh.png

And effectively the five senior police get a 30 day vacation.

It does say this is whilst there's an investigation. If they're found to be guilty then they shouldn't just be moved to an inactive post but probably sacked/ Of course whether that will happen is another matter but let's hope.

I just hope some idiot doesn't come along and claim it's not gambling but some ancient Chinese custom.

good. i see you read the article and not just between the lines as the know it all brigade does.

I am still trying to figure out ZZ. 175 posts in 3 days must be some kind of record.

I am wondering about that myself.... Hey maybe there is a ZZ team !!!

Could be part of the new tourism campaign, where the government assembles a team of Thai people in room. Then they scour TV for any post that makes fun of Thailand or casts it in a bad light. Then they launch into full attack mode on the poster that would dare question anything Thailand does. :-)

It has been stated in media reports approx 12,000 Chinese government employes are allocated for monitoring and censoring Chinese web sites/blogs etc Including posting content in support of the government. Wiki suggest up to 30,000.There are some Thai government agencies who also have an equivalent role, don't know the staffing levels.

Here they were transferred, with full pay, to another station, with a pat on the back. Don't worry, this will blow over. You can come back with full honors. In China they would be executed. In Indonesia, or Malaysia, they would be given 5-15 years in prison, and the families would be fined over a million baht. Here, they are transferred. This kind of nonsense will continue FOREVER, unless Thailand somehow, somewhere, sometime, figures out that it is of vital importance to establish effective law and order, of they will go the way of Mali, or Timor. Irrelevancy to the planet. That appears to be the direction they so desperately want to head, based on their leaders fabulously myopic lack of vision.

is that true where to apply for a job like that. at the company we restructure atm and in my position i have lots of time now.

btw. that spoils the myth that the Chinese are all brainwashed, i mean if they have to employ and pay extra people to do task like that.

other nations have their share of brainwashed patridiots who do such task voluntary, without any money.
