Talking Android Dictionary

Featured Replies

Is there a talking dic. for android?

Ive got a normal dic., not a talking dic. I want a dic. that can translate english to Thai

Thanks

Collins mini - not good, 9.99 USD (free trial version for 1 week)

i tested some words and the translations are often not what i here Thais say

oh, and difficult to install, installs only halfway (eg i could search only Thai > Eng etc), database doesnt download etc

UI and usability very poor

i uninstalled the trial version, mail reason being their translations are not really correct

Paiboon talking thai dictionary - probably good, 26 USD (!), does not work offline (see the reviews in the google play market)

i couldnt test it cos google didnt accept my CC

the fact that u cannot use it offline makes it pretty useless

Google translate for android... It's free.

Paiboon is the best IMHO. I use the iOS version and am very pleased with it. It works fine offline - dunno about the android version.

It has Thai pronunciation and takes English input translates it to Thai, Thai input translates to English and also allows you to type "Tinglish" (eg. if you type "maa" it will offer มา = come). It's not cheap, but it is worth it.

Sent from my iPad-mini.

Agreed its very comprehensive with a few hidden tricks once you grasp the language a little more.

Well worth the cash yes.

A couple of notes:

You can listen to the phrase in spoken Thai - this requires a network connection.

Press the menu button, then choose "SMS Translation" which takes you to your SMS in box.
