Morakot
And they dropped the charges of driving under the influence because? Possibly to focus on the considerably more serious charges (under Thai law) than driving under the influence. How strange. Do you always check how the criminal justice system works before visiting a country? I'm surprised that there's any country you can visit. The rich and powerful get away with things in all countries.

Me too! I am deciding my future travel plans on whether the incarcerated people in Guantanamo Bay detention camp, who have never been charged or had a trail, will finally be released. Don't beat around the bush... your saying you would never travel to the US of A? Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE Q6

Locationthailand
Xxxxxxx' idiots. 2nd degree murder (a non-premeditated killing, resulting from an assault in which death of the victim was a distinct possibility) - not manslaughter, possession of narcotics, driving under the influence, driving in a manner dangerous and culpable driving, then add speed etc and then lying to pervert the course of Justice. A student prosecutor could nail this rich brats ass to the wall but you can bet the loopholes will all be found at the 11th hour, technical with the arresting officers etc. Thailand's Justice system, for the rich and famous... hkt83100
And they dropped the charges of driving under the influence because? In my understanding, driving under influence might be considered as mitigating circumstances. By dropping this charge the rest could be honoured at it's fullest severity. Amazingly stupid comment and applauded for by all Thai- apologists. I hope -not really- that you or someone you (apologists) love, is subject to any crime like this! Popular Post thunder30101
Not defending this kid but you cant charge him with being under the influence when he wasnt tested until hours after the crash, wouldnt have a chance in any court, speeding ? prove it first, not with some cheap chinese uncalibrated camera info. Yes he is guilty of manslaughter and maybe reckless public endangerment but thats about it. And he will walk with a fine and a suspended sentence thats the way it works here, if you havent figured that out about thailand you really shouldnt be here.

Popular Post ratcatcher
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Driving at 170kph in a 60 kph zone. Colliding with a policeman on a motorbike. Failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Driving home and then denying he was actually in charge of the Ferrari. Wearing sunglasses at the funeral of the policeman he killed. Nothing unusual here. Not worth worrying about. Money has changed hands between the Yoovidhyas and the family of the policeman he killed and also significant contributions made to the Royal Thai Police benevolent fun. Just another day in paradise.
