I have been looking for these kits for years and can never find them.

With son's 7th. year fast approaching, I want to get him the Meccanno 25 set model. I had tons of fun with these when I was his age.

Any ideas? Anyone in the UK who can buy and ship?

Amazon UK does not ship. Tried by adding it to the checkout and up came their infamous red banner - this item does not ship to your address.

I haven't seen a metal meccanno set since i was a kid except in those nostalgia/quasi - antique shops. I loved mine when i was young and i think i learnt a lot of my basic mechanical/engineering theory from mine. Lego was also good in the same way for teaching building and archictural theory. Sorry this doesn't help you but it is a great gift for any son .

Never seen original meccano (metal) sets for decades. But we never know.

I have been searching for 3 years now. The company stopped making them. Very sad indeed. If anyone cracks this one I will the second in line to buy one!

What company has stopped making them? Go to meccano.com. They are now owned by Lego. But none at Central nor anywhere else.

I looked in Central & Robinsons yesterday nothing to be found - I will ask my father to look the next time he goes into the city back in UK
