lopburi3
If I were you would make sure that you buy anything other than aspirin from a well-known chain pharmacy such as Boots, Watsons, Pharma Choice etc. rather than a no-name local pharmacy, to avoid risk of fake meds... (unless you know the place/owner well and can trust). In my experience, Boots, Watsons etc only carry the more well-known medications, are quite pricey, are are pretty much useless when it comes to trying to get hold of more obscure generic drugs, such as Ramipril etc And just try buying low dose aspirin from those name chains - they believe you will be giving to babies even when you are in your 70's and trying to get for better blood flow and will just say don't have. They usually do not have a grade one pharmacist on duty and their stock is quite limited. They make most of their profits form cosmetics and toiletries. Not the place to get any but the most common of meds. Fake meds are rare in Thailand except for certain imports specifically slanted towards the tourist market e.g. fake Viagra, Cialias etc. Locally made drugs have no counterfeits that I know of. bunnaag
Just don't make the mistake of calling those low strength aspirin "baby" aspirin or expect to be treated like you have three eyes. Thai took the warning about aspirin very seriously (taking it off the market for awhile) and drug stores do not seem to understand and if you call it baby aspirin they believe that is who you intend to give it and will say they do not have, rather than ask if for you and to thin your blood. Also believe 81mg may be more common here (1/4 of normal US adult dose of 325mg).the aspirin is about 81mg.a few years ago small bottels were sold with about 1000 tablets I forgot the price but very cheap. Now they are packed in aluminium stripes with 10 tablets costing 1.1 bath per tablet.they blame it on the flooding. lopburi3
I still have some remaining from such 1,000 container Aspenet-M with price tag 35.00 They were made in Ayutthaya so flooding was the reason for the disappearing act. Why so expensive now is another matter.

GreenSnapper
Opposite side of MBK, near the bridge from Siam, there is a huge government pharmacy, well stocked and cheap. Professional and recommended. They use a number system like the banks. But usually not that crowded.
