To be honest with you bro, i would say not good.

But i am the wrong person to ask. If you wait until scouse or GU22 replys they may be able to give you more information. You will need to provide evidence that you have a real relationship. If you can do that then thats step 1

The chances of getting it all done in 2 weeks are very slim, I'm afraid.

If you supply all the supporting documents with the application and if those documents are sufficient to satisfy the ECO that the criteria are met and so s/he is "minded to grant" the visa, then she may be contacted within 10 working days of submitting the application and asked to attend the embassy to collect her visa. Otherwise she will have to be interviewed, and the current waiting time for that is 8-10 weeks. This is purely due to the demand, and, unless there are exceptional compassionate grounds, interviews are allocated purely on a "first come, first served" basis.

What you could do is submit the application now (download and print Application form VAF2 - settlement (PDF, 129K)) with a covering letter to say that you are getting married on (date) and asking for an interview as soon as possible after that date. But with an 8 to 10 week wait for an interview, timing is going to be tight.

For what is needed to apply and the supporting documents etc., see:-

No mate, I've been building our SV application for nearly 3 months.

If I was you, I would postpone your marriage date, so you have time to get everything ready. Also, it would increase the length of your relationship by the time you marry and apply for the visa.

I would have to agree. You should give it a good 3 months at least for processing a permanent visa. Also I reckon they`ll think you`re relationship is a bit weak, since you haven`t spent much time together. You should postpone it and try to spend more time together. It would also be highly beneficial to get her a tourist visa to see your home, meet your mates and family. I`ve heard that that is a big plus for permanent visa applications. I would say go ahead and marry her cos getting a tourist visa is a hellava lot easier when you`re married! Then take her to your country for a couple of months and then get your application together. As much as it sucks, you need to do as much of the groundwork as you can. This is just based on my own experiences...

Fortunately for us Brits, the UK visa process is a lot simpler and quicker than the Australian one. However, I would concur with Chareehusbee about the time spent together.

A visit visa may be a good idea. But unless she has a concrete reason to return such as a job, the result of that will hinge on the perceived strength of your relationship. Basically, if they are satisfied that the relationship is genuine and so the reason for the visit is genuine then they will trust her to return. If they have doubts about the relationship then they will probably refuse.

Indeed. The first time we applied for TV, before we were married, she was refused on the grounds of having no commitments in Thailand to return to. After we were married, we got one in 3 days. Her situation hadn't changed, tho she had been working (but wasn't at the time of her 2nd TV application).

It was funny tho, cos we had amassed a great deal of doc's for SV and gave everything to them for the TV instead. We told them the reason we didnt want to apply for SV was because we wanted her to come over and see how she liked it first (which was true). But the main reason we didnt apply for SV straight up was because my financial status at that time wasn't optimal, and after the previous TV refusal we didn't want to risk a similar outcome on SV. Everything worked out in the end (recently got SV) so it's all good now... As I've said before, better to be patient and do the ground work first.
