Re Useable Nappies

Featured Replies

As the post says, any leads on where to buy quality products?

Hi,

I know naturally bebe in bkk sell cloth nappies, although haven't used that particular brand - we use ezypeezies...an Aussie brand that has been brilliant (don't leak and no nappie rash) might be worth finding out if they send to thailand? ( I had someone send some over) Could cost a bit tho.

NO worries, I have mates coming from Aus in June :) any particular models etc...... As you can see I am very new to this, alos how many sets/pairs would you recomend?

No prob :) I tried a few different brands / types to see which I liked best. ( Dont buy the really cheap brands - i tried them too, and they leak really badly!) As I said, I ended up with ezypeezies brand as they were our favorite by a long way - I wanted bamboo because of the humidity here, and one size fits all so you don't have to buy multiple sets (now bub is a bit older I like the pull-up ability of the ezypeezies too). If you go ezypeezies they only have one model so it is easy - you just have to choose the colors :) if you are planning on doing it full time (no disposables ) about 20 is good, otherwise if you do a combo of washable and disposables, about 12 would be ok. (Their website is ezypeezies.com.au). Otherwise google modern cloth nappies....when I first started looking, some of the reviews were really helpful (each baby is so different too! ) Hope that helps - if you have any more questions, just ask :)

Thanks heaps, I am in a fortunate position that I can have things brought from Aus & the UK - i am actually going back to the UK with the sole purpose of buying baby stuff! We will try to go 100% with re - ueseables as I cannot agree with the environmental cost of disposables, although if we can do 95% with the odd one here or there then i am ok. Will look at bamboo also & compare the prices, maybe buy 50/50 then get more sent as needed. I am sure I will hit you up for more info :) i looked at the website for naturally bebe and was shocked at some of their prices! WOW AUD30 for a bib

How long does a disposable nappy stay in the environment?

Anyone know?

It stays in my environment until it's pooped, then it's gone from my environment...which works out great for me.

The cost alone is enough to make our decision, washing is not an issue as you throw then into a machine & they come out clean & drying well this is Thailand so mother nature takes care of that!

We've certainly found it easy and worth it.

You mentioned getting stuff from overseas - if you haven't yet discovered, Bambiweb has a lot of good second hand stuff, so does Craigslist - if your here long term, both good resources for finding hard to get stuff. If your are going overseas, try and get a good baby carrier - best thing ever!

People seriously use second hand reusable diapers that they bought online?...wow

Thanks again, we have already got a pushchair travel system waiting to be collected at my fathers place :)

All I can say is that I'm glad my kids have outgrown them.

Once, ask the wife if we can use cloth diapers.

Needless to say that didn't go over to well.

Now, I see other members of wife's family having babies.

Their babies only wear diapers at night. During the day

they run around bottomless.

I also believe 'free willy' is a great option for babies, and lets their little bits breathe a little.
