Thanks, Git.

Any personal experiences?

Hi HeijoshinCool

2 years the Wife(Thai) & I(UK) were due to go to Japan with our little boy(Dual) for the wedding of a Japanese freind, this was before the Wife had received her ILR here in the UK so she was the only one of us who had to apply for a visa.

It wasn't too hard, but they did want to see proof of funds, our invite to the wedding, hotel bookings & I am pretty sure our return air tickets.

The Boy & I obviously eligable for waivers

My Thai girlfriend got a visa for Japan about five years ago.

It seemed quite easy compared to the UK and Schengen.

If I remember correctly, she had to stay overnight for two nights in Bangkok (we live in Phuket) while they processed her application. But that may have changed now.

may not apply

but we live in Vancouver and went to Japanese consulate

although we ended up not going to Japan, they made it seem like when we did apply, there shouldn't be any issues

she has a WP in Canada and 10yr visitor visa to US, so that helps i think
