Thaksin seeks and offers forgiveness
The Nation on Sunday

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra gets a kiss from her son while celebrating the Thai New Year in her hometown of Chiang Mai yesterday.

BANGKOK: -- Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday used the occasion of Songkran, the Thai New Year, to apologise to those seniors whom he had "hurt" and also forgave those who had "hurt" him, while sending his good wishes to Thais on his Facebook page.

"I am a Buddhist and grew up in the environment and culture of northerners, so I always want to uphold this value [apologise and forgive],'' he said.

But Thaksin, who many believe to be the de facto leader of the ruling Pheu Thai Party, also expressed nostalgia and said he was homesick. "I am well, living abroad, but I miss home sometimes, though I'm starting to get used to it. It is during Songkran that I feel more homesick,'' he said.

Thaksin said Songkran Day is a good time to remove inauspiciousness from the body and mind. "We should at least have a day when we can start life afresh, in an auspicious way, and forget bad things and prejudices for the sake of the country and countrymen,'' he wrote.

His sister, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, also sent wishes to Thais via her Facebook page and through her weekly programme "Yingluck Government Meets the People", stressing on upholding family values, Thai culture and tradition. "Thais have worked hard the whole year. They can recharge their battery during Songkran,'' she said.

She urged Thais to celebrate Songkran without alcohol and dress discreetly.

Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva wished all Thais safe travel during the Songkran festival, saying he believed Thai politics in April would be calm if the government does not push for the speedy passage of the amnesty bills and charter amendment.

Parliament will close on April 20 and reconvene at the end of May. He urged the government to let the legal procedure move step by step, saying he believed the government will campaign for national reconciliation after Parliament closes.

Predictable verbal diarrhea. Back to seeking revenge in full next week. Sociopath's continue to play the game. Below are the ten traits of sociopaths - a dead fit to Thaksin.

From experience and quoting the following -

"... One of the more offensive duties of being an investigative journalist is taking out the trash -- exposing liars, fraudsters, con artists and scammers for the people they truly are. Each time we investigate a sociopath, we find that they always have a little cult group following of spellbound worshippers who consider that particular sociopath to be a "guru" or "prophet."

Sociopaths are masters at influence and deception. Very little of what they say actually checks out in terms of facts or reality, but they're extremely skillful at making the things they say sound believable, even if they're just making them up out of thin air.

1) Sociopaths are charming

2) Sociopaths are more spontaneous and intense than other people

3) Sociopaths are incapable of feeling shame, guilt or remorse

4) Sociopaths invent outrageous lies about their experiences

5) Sociopaths seek to dominate others and "win" at all costs

6) Sociopaths tend to be highly intelligent

7) Sociopaths are incapable of love and are entirely self-serving

8) Sociopaths speak poetically

9) Sociopaths never apologize

10) Sociopaths are delusional and literally believe that what they say becomes truth

Using the above guide, I know many sociopaths. w00t.gifw00t.gif

A nasty, manipulative piece of work. Socio-path? Perhaps - this behaviour suggests so.

I was unaware that you had formal training as a mental health clinician. You should consider putting it to use in the health care system of Thailand as there is a shortage of such specialists and it is one of the few health specialties where the MoH welcomes foreigners.

What's this the "Forgive & Forget speech" just more diretribe for the masses to be forgotten tomorow cheesy.gifclap2.gif ............coffee1.gif

How long have you been in Thailand?

The expression of such sentiments by those with power is an intrinsic part of the festival. One of my associates called me up yesterday to wish me a happy new year and to express remorse for any wrongs he did me in the past year. Rather decent of the chap. I expect that if you have any Thai friends outside the bar scene, they will do the same.

He wants the money back which was taken from him and his power. He will never forgive or forget

Didnt the courts find in his favour some years back and the 46 billion was returned.

It appears that some posters don't believe in the court system either (unless it suits them!)

Good post, Old Man Kangaroo:

But you should really provide a reference/citation for the source you seem to be using.

I would consider his apology much more sincere if it was accompanied by a cheque for the the amount he has stolen from the people of Thailand, with interest.

Start with the RTP computer scam, evaded taxes, the mobile phone monopoly, evaded taxes, the Myanmar telecommunications scam, evaded taxes, etc,etc,.........................could take quite a while to calculate.

It's Songkran and it's the " right " thing to say and that's about all. He is known for his ruthless and vindictive streak and if he ever get back to Thailand a lot of people will be running for cover as he has scores to settle

His attitude is also prevalent amongst his sycophants too. Didn't Chalerm make a speech in Parliament saying if ever he was PM a lot of people had better watch their backs ?

If he's homesick get on a plane and be at Swampy in 7 hours. Whinging pathetic coward.

And if he would be a worthy dictator like Castro, he would fly in and order his police to arrest Abhisit. It would work. He is just afraid that there are some single non corrupt people that make him problems.
