Anyone know what ATSTD stands for in the bank book to denote the type of deposit made, does it mean transferred into account

I just found out that Krung Thai Bank doesn't have an "ABA Routing Number." They told me to use Bangkok Banks' ABA Routing Number in New York to pay my Citibank Credit Card. I tried it but it didn't work and now Citbank is charging me $39 for a "Returned Check Charge." sad.png

You should have contacted CitiBank and received correct information.

If you have the ability to EFTS funds into the BB New York branch, why don't you have the ability to pay credit card bills, using your US account ?

per web site and google translate:

ATSDT. ATM TRF TO S / A. Item bank using the Bank of Thailand Thailand's cabinet. By transfer Saving.

Thanks, does that mean somebody paid money into an account via ATM?

You can only use the Bangkok Bank NY routing number if you have a local Bangkok Bank account. Like transferring money via ACH from your home country bank to your Bangkok Bank account (ie., use the NY branch routing number along with your local Bangkok Bank account). You can't use the Bangkok Bank NY branch routing number with a Krung Thai Bank account (or any other bank like KBank, SCB, etc).

And even if you did have a Bangkok Bank account if another bank, credit card company, etc., tried to pull money/transfer money from your Bangkok Bank account (like to pay a bill) per your payment instructions it would probably reject since the Bank of Thailand place restrictions on Thai banks regarding the "outflow" of money without proper approvals. Thailand is the Land of Smiles for incoming money but the Land of Frowns for outgoing money.

transferring money "out of a Thai bank account"
