GraJock Moo, available in many markets. Thinly sliced and fried pork. Very meaty and crunchy.

Pla Muak chup bairng tot. Squid rings dipped in flour and deep fried, widely available as a Thai bar snack.

The little deep-fried pork fat/skin. Crunchy and great with beer. 20 baht.

Also most excellent for training dogs. No worries they'll run off. Shake the bag when I let mine out to pee in the morning, and they're back in 15 seconds!

Also the Yam Mam-maa. Seafood on noodles with a spicy lime dressing.

It's called "cap moo"

These are very popular in the UK too, called 'scratchings' from my neck of the woods.

Fai Thong and similar egg yolk/sugar concoctions

Moh Gahng - custardy thick square. I do not know contents in entirity

San Kai Ya - essentially, flan.

Tapioca sweets, little balls o jelly in sweet drinks

Pandan - coconutty tasting paste/custard made from grass

Khao Dem - above

Coconut ice cream

Khao Niew with Durian or Mango

Khnom Buurung (look like little tacos) - marshmallow, fai thong, crazy sweet

Sugar cane and lime juice

Lime juice and salt

I do not like jellied cubes, Thai love em.

Those are my fave sweets, not snacks.

Going strictly on my observations over the 10 years I have been here, the most popular snack for thais would be the trusted and tried nose bogey, boogers, snot, dried nasal mucus.

Its free, readily available and full of vitamins and most importantly, its real easy to grow.

Second most popular would have to be the old favorite........... ear wax. MMMMMMMMMMMM sick.gif

Nua data diow

Moo/Nua Dad Diaw - sun dried and deep fried pork/beef. It's very very good with beer! (cold beer, with ice cubes.....poured by a pretty Thai girl whistling.gif )

Moo Manaw (Boild pork tenderloin, with garlic/Lime/chilli sauce....also very good as a snack, to accompanion a beer or two.

Those two are my favorite ones, for snacks...

What this man says, love these in particular

I also like Muu Yor, like a luncheon meat type sausage to us farang. They sell small 'tubes' in 7/11 which I sometimes partake in when returning back after a few beers. The 'fresh' stuff is also lovely. They also use it in a 'yum' salad too but I can just eat the thing! tongue.png
