I didn't think for one second that everyone on here is living in Thailand nor do I care if they are/aren't. I guess if I asked for travel info then it's better to listen to the person that lives in Thailand that I can gauge from their posts they live there or some info about pubs or happy hours then of course someone on the ground would be better to listen to .. Believe me, I would be very happy to do so but I just can't figure out all the software yet. Also, I have heard from others that the quoting software may have bugs in it and need "sorting" whatever that means. Please just give me a few days to practice. But I am also fearful if I practice "live" then I may screw up the forum somehow. You can see the predicament in which I find myself. But I will try. The fonts, I probably cannot help, long-term. For most of this time I have monitored ('lurked') here on the forum. My comments are usually on general knowledge subjects - especially health and medical of which I am knowledgeable. I don't represent myself as living in Thailand. My profile clearly states that I live in the Fort Worth, Texas USA area. I consciously try to never post in a fashion that would lead someone to believe that I do live in Thailand . While I have had a long experience in Thailand for one full year - it was over 40 years ago. This past experience is helpful in understanding what Thailand once was - but it is no substitute for residing there in these current times. I most often post in thread topics that are political or event subjects in the USA. I do post a lot in these kinds of threads and I am quite opinionated there. I am coming to an end of my two year plan to get to Thailand. To clear out of Texas I need to place my cats in a new home ... Shortly after that happens I will get on my way to Thailand. I have to sell my home too. I have been trying for almost six months. I will probably leave the USA before selling the house - just turn it over to a real estate agent and a lawyer. Bottom line, my experience on TVF has been a very good learning experience. I fully believe what I have learned will keep me from making mistakes and will help avoid stepping on many 'land mines'... The topic threads on Visas / Immigration, customs and culture, language, do's and don'ts, cost of renting, places to shop (Western style) and a host of other subjects have been very valuable to me.
