Exploding M/c On Khao Talo

In the last 15 minutes, a woman riding her m/c quite fast up Khao Talo. We hear a bang and think she has hit a car or something. We turn around, she is laid in the road, the m/c a ball of flames. No other vehichle involved.

Some people had the sense to get fire extinguishers out of their shops - Tesco was one - and put out the flames. The others..... they were more interested in using their phones to record the burning m/c. Some car / truck drivers even blocking the road to use their phones to take pictures / movies.

I hope she is not too badly injured and can only guess at why the m/c exploded like it did.

More than likely a fuel leak. Hope she was not burnt and gets over the injuries OK.

I considered, later on, that maybe the fuel cap was not on correctly and petrol sloshing about. It turned instantly into a fireball.
