Benelli Keeway Generic 600 Rk6/bn600

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen a thread about this bike yet. Not a bad looking bike. It's said to be based on the early 2000's R6. 88HP 600cc inline 4. I have seen the price as 254,00B and 28X,XXXB. I tried calling 2 different numbers for Keeway dealers but neither work. If it's 60k cheaper than the Versys, that might be enough to temp more than a few. Horrible name though. "Generic" must translate into something nice in Chinese.

From thier main English language site which calls it the BN600: http://www.benelli.com/eng/Catalog/Motorcycles/Bikes2013/BN-600/Default-cd-776.aspx

ENGINE
4 cylinders in line, 4-stroke, liquid cooled , 4 valves for cylinder double overhead camshaft

RATED OUTPUT
60 kW (82 cv) @ 11500 rpm MAX. TORQUE
52 Nm (5,3 kgm) @ 10500 rpm
Talent, ambition, sporting appeal. Here is the new Benelli 600cc: BN 600, the long awaited four-cylinder bike of the Pesaro-firm arrives to Italy with the aim to satisfy the wishes of the most demanding riders who also pay attention to price.

BN 600 is not the same old 600. The heart of the BN 600 is its innovative inline four-cylinder 4 stroke engine, liquid cooled, double overhead camshaft and 4 valves for each cylinder. The engine, with electronic injection and four ø 38 mm throttle bodies, delivers a power of 82 hp (60 kW) @ 11.500 rpm and max. torque of 52 Nm @ 10.500 rpm. Wet sump lubrication, wet clutch, 6 speeds gearbox and final chain drive. A successful recipe conceived and developed meticulously over the years to get a smooth and compact engine to entertain even the less skilled riders.

Rough edges, energetic and slender, BN 600 boasts essential, extremely aggressive features. The strong point of this new Benelli is the comfortable riding position, which makes handling easy and agile, allowing the racer to focus entirely on sheer enjoyment. The sound of BN 600 is unmistakably unique, genuine Benelli.

The naked frame is made of an upfront steel trestle and an aluminium structure at the rear suspension link, a guarantee of reliability under all circumstances. Suspension system is made of an upside-down front fork ø 50mm and a rear aluminium alloy swingarm with rear shock absorber in extension hydraulic and spring preload adjustment to tackle uneven pavements with total ease.

Top quality braking system with front ø 320 mm twin floating disk and radial callipers and rear ø 240 mm single disk with double piston calliper. Aluminium alloy 17’’ rims with 120/70 and 180/55 tyres, which ensure safety even in the most difficult situations, and 15L fuel tank.

BN 600 is presented in the colours white, black, orange and grey and will be available starting by mid-2013 at a really competitive price.

There are some good Thai reports out already

I say good meaning they seem to voice an opinion on both good & bad.
Some things they like & some things they say are a bit cheaply done.
Also the exhaust is running a bit hot as setup

I saw a pic of one they changed already to a down exhaust exit

Here is the review & it is in Thai but line by line you can figure it out

or use a translator to get close

Also lots of good pictures of various parts/groups

nice bike but I like the one with the fairings on the side better

there is a thread running here : http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/601716-benelli-tnt-600-inline-four/page-9?hl=%2Bbenelli#entry6241113

^ Ah ok. Somehow I missed that other thread. Probably because it's not called the TNT 600 here, actually neither is it called that in the UK.

the problem is, nobody knows what to call these bikes as clearly, they have a branding/modelling crisis!

I have seen the Benelli modified to the moon by K speed as it is siting in front of their shop, looks better than teh stock still do not trust anything Chinese!

Honda trumps all in Thailand??? You couldn't tell me that before I ordered a Kawasaki?:)

Ill take a FULL power kawa litre bike for 200,000 less then the honda restricted litre bike. Of course i am buying a bike not a name.

For B60k less you get a Honda. Honda trumps all in Thailand.

Honda happens to have the lion's share of the market. Doesn't mean their range is the best....or worse!

First the Benelli BN600 is only sold in China as the Keeway RK6. Worldwide the Benelli can be found in two versions, which are the generic version and the delux version (we can find several variation on the delux version depending on the local language)..

The regular or generic version has calipers and suspension made by Benelli themselves, the delux version has Brembo calipers and Marzocchi front forks and a few more gadgets... I was told that the brake discs on both models are made by Brembo...

The fuel injection system is from Walbro, which is an American company that claims that they're worlds largest manufacturer of fuel injection systems. For some useless information in Thailand the fuel tank of your Honda car is also manufactured by Walbro.

Actually Honda only has the lion share of the market in the small engine motorcycle segment, in the big bike market the leader is still Kawasaki with much more bikes on the road.

How long will Kawasaki be the market leader in the big bike segment is open for discussion....

The pictures in this thread make the bike look crap I've seen much better pictures maybe this is a different model, can't believe they call it an rk6 is that a pisstake or what.

I'd still rather by a 2nd hand gap bike than this ,it would probably last longer aswell.

Why do you think rk6 is a pisstake? This bike borrows a lot of mid 2000's R6 tech, (which was a great bike, btw) so makes perfect sense.

I think some of the pictures above are quite striking. But taste is a matter of taste. Here's more for you. smile.png

I saw them at the motor show and really wanted to come away impressed. Unfortunately I wasn't :(

Benelli does not look better than the Kawa 100 percent, Benelli looks like it is made of recycled tins in China.

ANd, 2000's tech at 2013.

Why buying old tech with our hard earned cash?

and Nomad, what i do not understand: If you like and love this bike, why do not you go buy one and try? We would love to see some reviews about this bikelaugh.png

Not sure the resale value would be very good in Thailand, it doesn't have a reputation yet to compete with established brands like Kawasaki, Honda and others which are mainstream especially in Thailand. Price is good though.

I wouldn't be happy buying this bike until it had been on the market quite a few years... I'd definitely be questioning its reliability.

True, but even after a couple of years and (hopefully) mostly positive owners reports the benelli-keeway would still be slagged of. Just look at the other keeway thread, all the owners seem to be happy with the bike but still some individuals trying to convince us its a <deleted> bike with low resale value etc etc.

Has anyone seen the resale values of the kwakers er6n/f recently ? They can be picked up for very reasonable prices.Versys seem to hold their value a bit better though.

I wonder how long the after sales support will be here. A lot of these Chinese companies seem to sell a load of bikes and then close the shop. And it's not like you can just source the spares from Ebay. IMO this bike needs to be cheaper, that's a lot of money for an unproven bike considering the price of new/used er6's. I bought a 5 year old GSXR for less than the cost of this bike.

You're generalizing my comments. I never said I love this bike. But on two points, one being comparing it to the 500cc' Hondas, (48hp vs 85hp) the other as to its looks, I do not agree at all with a couple of comments made. I prefer faired bikes, but I also prefer 4 cylinders. I have a 2 pot because it's all that is offered at a reasonable price in LOS now. This is an I4 with more power than my Ninja. I think it's good that it's entering the Thai market and I look forward to seeing how the parts and service support is and quality. A faired Benelli similar to this I could see myself considering in the future. I don't think they ever made a faired bike have they?
