I believe that next decades wars will be about Water instead of Oil.

It has already started in fact: Libya.

Libya was about to finish one of the worlds greatest man made water projects in the middle of the desert. now it's all destroyed and many libyan small towns are struggling to get fresh water.

Water is a resource that the middle east is working hard to secure and western main corporations to monopolize.

Gay men in Iran have three choices:

Deep deep closet

Being jailed/executed

Cutting their willy off and becoming a woman largely paid by the government

Option 3 is OK for actual transsexuals, but reports are coming out that the majority of those getting these snips in Iran are not transsexuals, but regular gay men who have decided this is their only viable choice of the three for ANY life. In other words, Iranian Sharia coerced genital change.

as a persian who lives and experiences everyday life in iran, let me give you a general view on this guy. first of all he is stupid and intelligent at same time. very often he has done or said something that he as a president shouldn't have, simply because he is stupid. but there are somethings we (persians living in iran) know about him that shows his intelligence. 8 years ago when he was running for presidency no one knew who is ahmadinejhad; he just came out of nowhere, said some interesting stuff and paid enormous amount of money to some people buying their votes and became president. at the time the leader (Khameneii) was supporting him appose to the famous Hashemi Rafsanjani the other candidate. however after 2 or 3 years something happened and ahmadinejhad became more powerfull than leader (there were some info about leader that no one should've known but somehow ahmadinejhad got those info). and so he appointed his relatives and friends on key roles including SEPAH (most powerful military organization in iran ironically created by Hashemi Rafsanjani after revolution). Constitution law of iran says Sepah is under direct control of the leader, and with this important change of events, ahmadinejhad was more powerfull than leader. 4 years ago with the help of Sepah he cheated in election and people called him dictator. in january 2011 i was in thailand when all of a sudden hell broke; one day 1 USD was 12650 Rials and the next 1 USD equaled 22000 Rials and right now 1 USD = 36600 Rials. however last year another change in relationships between ahmadinejhad and khameneii shifted the power in favor of the leader and with 20 days left to election, the next president probably will be someone close to the leader (3 candidates are) or hashemi rafsanjani (which many people are hoping he will be president.

so to conclude this pig's 8 years reign, i say he single handedly destroyed: iran's economy, iran's reputation in the world, part of its culture and people's life living in iran. plus he invested heavily in terrorism (one of them happened in bangkok, you know which) in defferent parts of the world including iraq, afghanistan, pakistan, myanmar, yemen, algeria, cameroon, sudan, lebanon and sumali which that i know but i assure you the list goes on.

that said i think he wants to go to chiang mai not for the summit but mainly because he has about 2 months left on his presidency days and wants to go around the world as much a possible with the money of government. i just hope the next president will be better than this idiot and i widh for the economy to stabilize and nuclear program to be stopped.

i don't remember him taking professionals with him to summits like this. he always took his family and relatives. plus his profession is civil engineer. i can say for sure he doesn't know much about the subject. however iran has faced water crisis for the last 12 years. but i say it again: he just wants to travel around the world without paying a single penny.

Ahmadinejad cancels Thailand trip due to busy schedule

TEHRAN, Iran: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who was due to address a water security forum in Thailand has cancelled the trip because of his busy schedule, a member of the president's media office said Saturday.

"Ahmadinejad is unable to attend the forum due to his volume of work ... instead the Iranian delegation will be headed by the Head of the Environmental Protection Organisation, Mohammad Javad Mohammadizadeh," Mohammad Sheikhan said, quoted by the ISNA news agency.

An Iranian embassy official in Bangkok had said earlier that Ahmadinejad would address the forum next week, a month before ending his second and final term as president.

Ahmadinejad's trip to the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai was scheduled as Iran gears up for elections and as world powers press the Islamic republic over its suspected nuclear programme and support for the Syrian regime.

The race for Iran's highest elected office has intensified since former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili officially registered for the June 14 election.

Ahmadinejad has endorsed his controversial aide and ex-chief of staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei.

Nuclear talks between Iran and the UN atomic agency failed to reach a breakthrough yet again Wednesday, as the top US diplomat in separate six-party negotiations warned Washington's patience was wearing thin.

Iran has also come under pressure over the conflict tearing apart its close ally Syria and has repeatedly rejected calls for foreign intervention in the increasingly brutal war.

Tons of Police sitting around and lots more manning check points and groups waiting in reserve. Lot's of overtime.

Some red shirts protesting by the back entrance near the Military base. Not sure what they were protesting. Probably demanding ethnic cleansing or something.

Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi has attracted much criticism for comparing environmental activists protesting against the government-hosted Asia-Pacific Water Summit in Chiang Mai to garbage. He also threatened to have them arrested, saying the summit was not a venue for demonstrations.
