I don't get it. Why are there so many Pattaya haters active in the Pattaya forum? I'm not a big Bangkok fan so consequently I don't post in that forum. I'm straight so I'm not active in the gay forum.

But there seems to be an unusual amount of Pattaya haters active in the Pattaya forum. I mean, I get why some/many people dislike this place but there seems to be an abundance of posters who have to use every opportunity to post cr@p about it.

Many theories on that one.

My main theory is that many of the Pattaya bashers WISH they could allow themselves to live in Pattaya because they imagine it's nonstop supersex fun and all that but they don't want to deal with the STIGMA of that from friends and relatives.

So in retribution, they do all they can to reinforce the negative stereotypes about Pattaya.

Many of these people haven't even been here for 20 years or were never even here once. So they really have NO idea what they are talking about.

Very good question, when you find the definitive answer, be sure to post it for the rest of us.

It's not so much about what Pattaya is but what Pattaya represents in the basher's minds. So their bashing posts are much more about THEM than Pattaya.

I'll also add my OPINION that Pattaya bashing and being CRITICAL of some things in Pattaya from a basis of intimate knowledge of the real place are totally different things. For example, when I post about the situation of the fake taxi meters in town it's not bashing.

I am not one of the bashers or haters. But despite being only a 3 hour drive from where I am living, I never felt like visiting, from what I have heard and read about the place. All hearsay, I admit.

So all you Pattaya-lovers, SELL Patts to me. Why should I spend a week in Pattaya?? I am not into the barscene and hookers can be bought locally.

Pattaya is a sesspit! It is the route of all evil in Thailand - It attracts the worst of society!

although the definition of a generalization certainly seems to fit the author of the remark, i don't think its a real generalization
