CMU University Language Institute, or their branch at the new mini mall on Chan Klan Road - where the KFC has opened. 600B a page, next day. Then you pay 400B to get the English and Thai copies legalised at city hall in 3 days, except then you have to go back to the translator to get the correcfions done, then back to City Hall the same day.

Alternatively, there is a shop a few doors north of the British consulate that will do the whole process for about 1500B in a few days so you don't have to mess about.

Next time I will use them.

So I suppose you could just translate it together with the (soon to be) Mrs.?

And can it actually be legalized at the CM city hall, no need to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok?

You have to use an approved translator or the MFA won't approve it.

You can't do it yourself or use a school or university.

The MFA have an office at City Hall.

As naboo says, if you use the right people, you don't get messed around, it's worth the extra cost.

You could probably translate it first, then take it to an approved translator for their stamp of approval, and maybe negotiate the price down?

I have not done this but it seems worth a try.

If you look at the consular web sites you will find lists of translators. Seven days sounds long. Price may or may not include taking the translation to the MOFA office in Chiang Mai. This, of course, you can do yourself. It is located on the ground floor (inside left, East entrance) of the southern-most large building in the government office complex off Mae Rim Road. There is a nominal fee.
