Nattawut Denies Earning Bt131 Million From Egg Deals

Featured Replies

Hot off the press in news that Nattawut is to mobilise a million red shirts nationally to address the egg laying problem. A million litres of petrol in a million bottles will be taken to a million henhouses around the nation in an attempt to persuade the non-laying birds to start delivering promply or their batteries will be incinerated forthwith. Barricades of bamboo and car tyres will be constructed to prevent the chooks from fleeing.

I find the neck of these guys totally unbelievable. The problem is they believe that they are entitled to take from the coffers. The guy in our town that was recently elected to be in charge of the money for improving the town already has a new house and a new mercedes. This is a frakking government worker. He has got a 700 million baht fund and directs all the money to his own 'businesses' or those of his relatives. So suddenly his brothers road resurfacing company win every contract for road improvements in the town. What's even worse is the people seem to accept it as 'oh that's just the way it is' !!! He is now pitching up to school in a 6 M baht car!! Nattawut is just on the learning cycle as an MP if he is only scraping off 130 Million !!

The government’s Egg Board has controlled egg prices at Bt3.30 per unit but, Mr Nattawut said, there is pressure for prices to be jacked up to Bt3.60-3.90 per unit.

Have they ever informed supermarkets that 3.30 Baht is the price and not 6.70 Baht as they are priced on the shelves ?

Is 3.30b not the farm price?

Minimum wages for chicks jump in, price rises were to be expected....

Fatfather

on one side they say they had surplus but that slow production in hot season has meant less eggs and lower production forcing up prices.. which is it? these guys tell so many stories I just can't keep up?blink.png

And so comes forth and endless stream of egg related yokes.

Eggsactly. Hen will they ever learn?

I'm shell shocked already.

His scam seems to have been smashed right open. Not the best-laid plot.

Obviously this guy is in for some egg on his face .

Stinks like rotten eggs, but we knew with this appointment he would

have fingers in some pie and turn them rancide.

Everybody get paid. And this for only 0.5 Bath/egg to much. This is less then the normal 30 % corruption!?

Goooooood w00t.gif

From now on i will put only half a egg on my face at the evening and i will save money!?

We are talking Satang (100th of a Baht) if at all. If this is true then sure this is a LOT of eggiest 8-)

To put it in perspective, that's less than 2 baht per head of population. I wonder if that's how corrupt officials justify their actions - "not really hurting anybody, it's only a few baht out of everyone's pocket, and nobody really cares about 2 baht, do they?"

And the even bigger problem is that they don't even do a decent job when awarded the contracts.

Hmm, why don't they set up an egg pledging scheme? The rice scheme has worked so well they should expand it!

'Politician scrambles to avoid accusations of corruption egg-related puns ! rolleyes.gif

They could name it the cow pat (khao pad) policy.

Apart from the Government rethoric that the hot weather caused the hens to lay less eggs and as a result the price has gone up. Interesting but fascile. Two other reasons have played a large part in the egg price hike. One was the introduction of the minimum wage and the second was the board decision to increase the quantity of eggs exported while the Baht was high.

With this type of thinking as usual the problem becomes one where the man in the street suffers and the fat cats get greedy.

And so comes forth and endless stream of egg related yokes.

And maybe some white lies.

Yes, but the yolk is on them !

Allegation by whom, when and where?

So rather than just denying it, why isn't he suing them? Or maybe he doesn't know who they are?

Or maybe his brains are scrambled !

Poaching eggs indeed !

He's boxing clever !

It's a fowl thing to do !

After reflecting on this and all the other shenanigans I don't see a problem at all any more with British MP's claiming for house improvements or weekly shopping or putting a couple of porn vid rentals on their expense claims. Brit politicians are utter total amateurs when it comes to scamming the nation, these guys here are absolute masters.

I would have no problem with him getting the 131 million Baht if it was in satongs.

Just wondering how much the voting public knows about scams like this. I may be wrong but I think most of them know about the rice one, That is why Yingluck has a minister going around the country to give the PT version.

Between the rice the floods now the eggs and many other smaller ones how much does the public know?

If they knew the whole story I think we would see a new election to fill the spots left by the new Thai population living in Dubai.

Natty - you're an oeuf.

One for the linguists amongst us.

Sure he will deny earning any money from the egg deal. The numbers (amount) are also probably too low.

At the local market this weekend I bought the largest eggs they were selling and they were 42 baht for 10. Because I bought 20 eggs I only paid 40 per 10 so saving 6 baht.

I know I paid the same price as Thais as the prices were written up on some cardboard ranging from 30 for the smallest up to 42 for the largest.

The guy goes to all the local markets but unlike supermarkets he works on a table next to his pickup truck, has no large staff, just him and his wife, no a/c and would you believe no electricity either

He must be doing OK as he sells most of his stock in an afternoon.

6 baht? 2 x 2 = 6...!?

i hope they start paying those chicken the right price for pushing out such a big thing everyday from their crappy asses
